At least one progressive super PAC has jumped into the outside spending battle that’s ramping up in North Carolina’s hotly contested 2nd District, where GOP Rep. George Holding faces a narrowing path to re-election against Democrat Linda Coleman.

WOMEN VOTE!, the independent expenditure arm of the political action committee EMILY’s List, which promotes pro-choice Democratic female candidates for Congress, dropped $406,470 on a new ad attacking Holding for allegedly cozying up to the pharmaceutical industry by giving it a $42 million tax break.

The Trump political machine is out in full force in Texas’ 32nd District to boost GOP Rep. Pete Sessions as his race against Democratic challenger Colin Allred tightens.

First, Vice President Mike Pence stumped for Sessions there on Monday. Then, the top Trump-aligned super PAC shelled out millions of dollars on airtime for a new ad attacking Allred. And on Wednesday, the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., announced he will host a fundraiser in the district for Sessions later this month.

The super PAC tied to House Republican leadership is turning its attention to Minnesota’s 1st District, one of the GOP’s few pickup opportunities this cycle.

Congressional Leadership Fund is going up with its first TV ad on Wednesday, attacking Democratic-Farmer-Labor nominee Dan Feehan, an Iraq veteran and former deputy assistant Defense secretary for readiness.

America First Action, a super PAC aligned with President Donald Trump, is going on the air in Montana with another TV ad attacking Democratic Sen. Jon Tester

The ad, obtained first by Roll Call, argues that Tester isn’t the Montana farmer he says he is, citing a 2017 Washington Post story that called him “as much a member of the Beltway elite as any other senator.” That’s become a standard Republican attack on Tester, who’s running for a third term against Montana Auditor Matt Rosendale in a state Tump carried by 20 points in 2016.

The 10 Most Vulnerable House Incumbents: Blum’s Still the One
Erik Paulsen and Bruce Poliquin make the list for first time this cycle

With one month to go until Election Day, two new names are on our latest ranking of the most vulnerable House incumbents, but once again, the list remains all-Republican.

Despite widely over-performing President Donald Trump in his district in 2016, Minnesota Rep. Erik Paulsen looks to be in tougher shape this year in a seat Hillary Clinton comfortably carried. He has company — four of the most vulnerable incumbents are running in Clinton districts, with Colorado’s Mike Coffman and Kansas’ Kevin Yoder moving up on the list.

House Intel Chairman Nunes’ Democratic Challenger Raises $4.3M
Andrew Janz received more than 180,000 individual contributions since April 2017

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes’s Democratic opponent raised more than $4 million in the third filing quarter, his campaign announced Wednesday.

Democrat Andrew Janz’s $4.3 million haul is an extraordinary mark for any House race, but especially noteworthy given he’s running in California’s rural 22nd District that has been in Republican hands for years.

Minnesota Democrats Steer Clear of Republicans’ Controversial Comments About Women
Jason Lewis and Jim Hagedorn have both been attacked in past races for their comments

Jim Hagedorn, the GOP nominee in Minnesota’s open 1st District, said things he wrote about on his political blog have been well-publicized in all his previous races, but that he’s worked to get known in the district for who he is. (Tom Williams/CQ Roll Call)

NEW PRAGUE, Minn. — A Minnesota Republican congressman once called young, single women “non-thinking.” Another GOP candidate once referred to Washington state’s female senators as “bimbos.”

But don’t expect their Democratic opponents to make hay of those old remarks this year. That’s a change from 2016, and perhaps a surprising one, given that in today’s national environment, Democratic women are energized like never before.

In a new ad released Thursday, and shared first with Roll Call, Congressional Leadership Fund once again highlights Democrat Abigail Spanberger’s stint as a substitute teacher at the Saudi-funded Islamic Saudi Academy in Mount Vernon, Virginia, that began in 2002.

Former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ anti-gun PAC is changing an advertisement it is running against Colorado GOP Rep. Mike Coffman after the father of a girl who was killed in a school shooting in the state 12 years ago criticized it for appearing to use his daughter’s death to score political points.

The Denver Post first reported this story.
